Biography/Educator
Experience
---------------------------------------------------
I have been an educator since the year 2006; starting as a paraprofessional-math instructional aide in Corsicana ISD for their 6th grade campus at the time. While there I gained valuable knowledge regarding the educational profession from mentor teachers and professors. I continued my learning in Commerce, Texas to finish my bachelors degree through Texas A&M University-Commerce. I student taught and interned with Garland ISD from grade levels 4th through 8th, extending into Algebra 1 math content. During the 2012-2013 school year I returned to teach in Corsicana ISD and served as a 8th grade Algebra 1 teacher and also facilitated with UIL event planning and coaching Calculator Applications for grades 7th and 8th.
Recently I held the position as the Pre-Honors 7th Grade Math teacher and 8th Grade Algebra 1 teacher in Lancaster ISD and helped to serve my colleagues as the lead 7th grade math teacher and mentor teacher. I was also the Head Soccer Coach for boys and girls and Assistant Coach for Cross Country/District Track Coach. Transitioning into the 2020 school year, the position held in Lancaster ISD was as the Geometry teacher for the Lancaster STEM Early College High School.
Continuing my educational and professional career into this 2021 - 2022 school year, I am serving as a 7th Grade Math teacher in Fort Worth ISD and coaching Boys Soccer and Cross Country. Due to the change and struggles we are presented with in the world today, it has reminded me that learning should never stop. Because if it does, we stop growing.
